Rep. Janis Baird Sontany (D-53) said of female Republican state legislators, "You have to lift their skirts to find out if they are women. You sure can't find out by how they vote!"Sontany joined her fellow Davidson County Democrats for a legislative breakfast to honor U.S. Rep. Jim Cooper at the United Steelworkers building.
Other state legislators at the breakfast were Sen. Douglas Henry (21) and Rep. Gary Moore (50) plus several candidates for legislative office.
Does she have a mirror? Or, is she looking in one? She looks like Alan Combs in a wig!

Thank you, ma'am, for another dazzling demonstration that the sexist mindset that plagued and oppressed women for so long is not a thing of the past; your offense is all the more egregious because of your position AND gender.
ReplyDeleteSadly, Ms. Sontany is running unopposed this year. This is an excellent illustration of why I believe NOBODY ought to ever be on a ballot without an opponent. Maybe this would be the time to mount a write-in campaign?? The natives are restless, the incumbent is an idiot, turnout promises to be low, anything is possible! Everybody ought to call her office and share your feelings about such a sexist, mindless comment from such an arrogant legislator. I hate to list as anonymous, but I can't figure out how to use any of the other options!
