From Holly Spann

Holly Spann, community leader, sent Dru's Vues her impression of  Jan. 19 Metro Council Meeting:
"It was one of the most exciting and vibrant council meetings in the Metro's history.  The chamber was packed and the anticipation of the approval of the Music City Center was palpable.  Those who spoke in favor of passing the resolution to put in motion the construction of a new convention center caused hearts to pound...  They were a true testimony to why their constituents elected them – grand leaders of the greatest city in America.  When the vote passed – there was vocal jubilation in the chamber – Vice Mayor Diane Neighbors pounded the gavel, brought the room back to order, and proceeded to carry on Nashville's business.  In celebration of the historic council vote to enhance Nashville's future, Mike Kelly hosted a get-together to thank Nashville's movers and shakers extraordinaire."---Holly Spann, president, Davidson County Democratic Women and president-elect, Tennessee Women's Political Caucus
